UNRSC to Hold Third UN Global Road Safety Week in May

The United Nations Road Safety Collaboration (UNRSC), a consultative organ of the UN, will mark the third UN Global Road Safety Week between May 4th and 7th, 2015.

The event is expected to involve governments, international agencies, civil society organizations and private companies in raising road safety awareness around the world.

The UNRSC chose “Children and Road Safety” as a theme for this year’s event. Participants worldwide are invited to use the hashtag #SaveKidsLives in order to raise awareness of the issue and support the efforts being deployed for the global implementation of the World Report on Road Traffic Injury Prevention.

The first UN Global Road Safety Week was held in 2007.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has published a form on its website to be filled by any party willing to take part in the event. By completing the form, participants will have the chance to list the event they are planning on the “Activities around the World” section of the official website dedicated to the global event.
