3D Ultrasound in Tyre

The poorest regions of our country are now experiencing the largest number of birth mostly accompanied unfortunately of a lack of education of pregnant women in addition to the lack of the necessary and essential medical equipment to ensure the good health of the mother and the baby.

It is for this specific reason that Ouidad Hachem Foundation approached to sponsor Rotary in order to install a three-dimensional ultrasound system in Tyre, Lebanon.
Traditionally, the images obtained during ultrasounds come out in black and white and in 2D. The goal is to verify that the fetus is normally developing.
These scans fail to detect everything during the development of the baby. A “gap” that is now filled by the 3D ultrasound.

This ultrasound can in fact grant a more accurate visualization of the baby, all in 3D and/or in movement.
This new technology allows parents to clearly see the images, taking into consideration the space and volume; therefore it allows them to see the baby in three dimensions, unlike classic ultrasound image.

Following this project, a celebration was held in Tyre under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Public Health Mr. Wael Abou Faour and the presence of the President of the Rotary Club Lebanon Mr. Jamil Mouawad and in collaboration with the Municipality of Tyre. The sponsors were also present including Fransabank, Bank Audi and Blom Bank.
